This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Six-Day War. The Jewish Week, the Shalom Hartman Institute and the Streicker Center are proud to host a wide-ranging discussion of the lead-up, combat and aftermath that changed the face of the region and the Jewish people with two incisive commentators:

  • Yossi Klein-Halevi is a renowned journalist and Shalom Hartman Institute fellow whose critically acclaimed Like Dreamers, which features the iconic image of the 55th Paratroopers Reserve Brigade at the Western Wall, traces the ideologies that have shaped the country since the Six-Day War.
  • Michael Oren is a Knesset member and Deputy Minister for Diplomac,  onetime Israeli ambassador to the US and author of the best-selling Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East. This award-winning study has been praised for, among other things, the breadth of its sources and fair and balanced approach.

In partnership with The Jewish week and Shalom Hartman Institute.
