If the hyphen wasn’t technically invented for Hershey Felder, it might as well have been: This award-winning, box office record-breaking Canadian piano virtuoso-playwright-director-composer-producer-actor-recording artist of Polish-Hungarian descent has served in every capacity from scholar-in-residence at Harvard to president of Eighty-Eight Entertainment (his own production company). But he has spent the majority of his career packing theaters with his one-man bio-dramas.
And we’re proud to present three of the most celebrated: Hershey Felder in George Gershwin Alone, Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin and Hershey Felder as Leonard Bernstein in Maestro. Experience these iconic Jewish contributors to the 20th century American musical canon at another American Jewish icon: Temple Emanu-El. This was, after all, the congregation Berlin belonged to and the site of Gershwin’s funeral. You’ll be nothing short of slack-jawed when Felder brings them — and Bernstein — back to life.
