7:00 PM

$25 general admission

$99 reserved section and a post-reception with Hershey Felder

For over two decades, Felder has embodied the world’s greatest composers, telling their stories, performing their work. In this special program, the tables will be turned on the actor, storyteller and pianist as he speaks about his extraordinary career while discussing and performing the works of the composers he has vividly brought to life, including:

Irving Berlin, the Jewish immigrant from Belarus who could not read music but wrote much of the soundtrack that has defined America, from “White Christmas” to “God Bless America.”

George Gershwin, the composer from Brooklyn who rose from Tin Pan Alley to operatic and classical music master with Porgy and Bess and “Rhapsody in Blue.”

Leonard Bernstein, virtuoso conductor and composer who gave America West Side Story and embodied Judaism in his “Kaddish” and “Jeremiah” symphonies.

Richard Wagner, revolutionary opera composer infamously known for his essay “Judaism in Music,” a virulently anti-Semitic diatribe blaming Jews for all that was wrong with modern music.

Frédéric Chopin, Polish pianist and composer whose story opens a window into the artistic community of Paris in the mid 19th century.
