ABOUT ABOUT

GAY CHORUS DEEP SOUTH

Singing Their Way to Respect

Wednesday, February 5

6:30 PM

What happened when the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus teamed up with the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir in the wake of the 2016 election for a journey from Mississippi to Tennessee?

Not what you might imagine because the sublime spirit of music, the power of community and a little drag trumped all expectation.

Sheila Nevins, Executive Producer at MTV Documentary Films, will screen the award-winning documentary, Gay Chorus Deep South, and discuss its impact with:

Ashlé Blow — Chorus Member

David Charles Rodrigues — Director

Tim Seelig — Conductor
