How better to usher in Shabbat than with the blessings of Tevye and Golde . . . sung by 11 members of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish, which closed on January 5 after its extraordinary run Off-Broadway. Their “Tradition” will echo ours as we celebrate Shabbat with a bissel of the language of Anatevka. Performances to include “Shadkhnte, Shadkhnte” (Matchmaker, Matchmaker), “Tog-ayn, Tog-oys” (Sunrise, Sunset), “Libst Mikh, Setse” (Do You Love Me), and “Shabes Brokhe” (Shabbath Prayer).
